Prior to the pandemic, Delta offer SkyMiles Experiences, where you could redeem SkyMiles through this online auction platform that allows you to bid your miles. However in 2020, this site was shutdown and hasn’t been brought back yet.
Redemptions included for a vast array of unique events and experiences in entertainment, sports, food & wine, and travel. You can view Redeeming Delta SkyMiles for SkyMiles Experiences on full details of the program.
Now when you visit the SkyMiles Experiences website, you’re greeted with the following message:
This is a test site. No purchases are binding or final. Any purchased items will not be shipped nor delivered electronically. There will be not be any payment processing. Agree and understand site is test and demo only
Why would Delta have a test site in the works unless they were planning on relaunching the program in the very near future?
For context similar travel auction sites including Marriott Bonvoy Moments have returned back in full swing, so it’s time for Delta to bring back SkyMiles Experiences.

We won a Delta Sky Miles experience in 2019. It was an auction format. We won a concert and “meet and greet” with a country artist. We went to flew to another city in 2019 only to have the concert cancelled due to weather. Delta had a 3rd party administer this particular event. This 3rd party rescheduled us for 2020. Of course, the covid lockdown changed this. The 3rd party kept in touch with us, and we were recently rescheduled for our summer concert in 2022.
Thanks Delta Sky Miles!
