The Seychelles has certainly had it’s week in the spotlight. From the looks of it a James Bond movie could be headed to the Seychelles.

Drone Crash At Seychelles Airport

Earlier this week and un-manned US drone crashed landed at the Seychelles International Airport on Mahe. The Drone was reported to be monitoring piracy off the East African coast. Tuesday morning the drone “developed engine problems” and needed to land as soon as possible. This comes on the heels of the top secret drone being hacked and landed in Iran.

China Sets Up First Military Base Abroad

China has been evaluating closer ties with the Seychelles for several years. I posted back in 2009 an article about closer ties being formed between the two countries.

Air Seychelles Announces Termination Of Flights To Europe

As I reported here, Air Seychelles announced they will terminate their 767 flight from Europe to Mahe in March of 2012. Thankfully Delta is taking care of people who booked SkyMiles awards for the Air France code share flight.

The Seychelles has certainly had a few high profile weeks for a sleepy paradise island nation.
