The new international terminal at Hartsfield International Airport is open for business. The first flight out of the new terminal was a Delta 777 plane heading to Tokyo. The flight boarded on time, pushed back, took a quick taxi ride to the runway, got a shower along the way, and then headed out to Tokyo. Even though Alex recently shared his exploration of Tokyo, he unfortunately wasn’t on this flight.
Delta’s flight 295 from Atlanta to Tokyo Narita was oversold by 3 seats. Check out the view from near the gate and read how much compensation was provided for the 3 folks who took the bump.
Location For Departure
We were invited to view the main event from on top of the new gate at F1. This was our first time to climb on top of a gate so we were pretty excited to see the views. The views didn’t let us down as they were amazing. It was hot up there, but well worth it. Check out the view.
Plane Spotting
We got to see a few of the big birds take off from our vantage point. We saw a few 767s take off and a 757-300. Check out the length on that 757-300.
777 Departure
The main event was seeing the 777 push back from the gate, taxi to the run way and get a shower along the way.
