We arrived at the International Terminal departure hall and headed for the Korean Air check-in desk. There was an economy class line, a First Class line, and our Prestige Class line. The lines had no waiting times so we went straight to the desk to obtain our boarding pass. The night before we were able to check-in online and print our boarding pass, but we still needed to confirm at the deck at least 1 hour prior to departure.

International F Terminal In Atlanta

During our first visit to the International Terminal we saw the first plane, a 777, leave for Tokyo from atop the F1 Terminal as well as the first plane, a 767, arrive from Dublin.

When you are in Atlanta you have to try the Varsity. When you step up to order, you’ll want to be fast. They’ll ask you “what’ll ya have, what’ll ya have”, and you better order quick or you’ll get passed up. You can’t go wrong with the chili cheeseburger or the walk the dog, a hot dog to go. We figured it would be our last taste before heading over to Asia on an Asian carrier.

Delta Terminal F SkyClub

This is our second visit to the Delta SkyClub in the International Terminal at Hartsfield International Airport. During the first visit to the SkyClub in terminal F, we had Reginal mix us our favorite SkyClub drink, the Delta Non-Stop, from the Luxury Bar menu. This visit was a bit more relaxed. We posted up by the bar to watch the British Open, which is getting us more and more excited for the PGA Championship in Kiawah Island, GA that we are visiting as a result of redeeming 20,000 Starwood Preferred Guest points.

Terminal F SkyClub

We noticed the nice display of Moet & Chandon champagne in the SkyClub. What a great addition to the Luxury Bar menu. Nice job adding champagne to the lounge, nothing starts a vacation off in proper form more than a little bubbly. I wonder what Korean Air will serve onboard in Prestige Class?

There are nice shower facilities for those looking to freshen up between flights. The Freshscent products are still being used but last time I had heard about Delta working on new products. Hope to see more on that in the future.

Boarding Process

The Korean Air boarding process impressed me. It is nothing like the old Air France boarding process. Although, I have to give Air France a nod for their impressive boarding process for the A380.

By contrast the Korean Air boarding process was prompt and efficient. There are separate lines for Sky Priority / Prestige / First Class and Economy. The two different boarding zones were roped off to ensure boarding with the proper seating area.

We were quickly seated and taxiing out. On our way to Asia for our first time on our first Asian carrier.

Bottom Line

By the time you’ve gotten this far, we are well on our way over to Asia on Korean Air.

We’ve always wanted to fly Korean Air and Singapore Air because of the great things we hear about both. Now we get to try them out first hand. Since Korean Air is a SkyTeam partner, we’ll earn Delta MQMs for the flight and we’ll credit United for the Singapore Air flight.

And we are almost as excited to see the Incheon and Singapore International Airports. Our friend over at Rapid Travel Chai pointed out the airport has a golf driving range among a few other cool things.
