Delta has quietly rolled out a huge change to SkyClubs that has a big impact to many customers.
I can’t say if this is the week when the change was implemented, but it is the first week that I noticed the change and the first week it impacted me.
Big Change At Delta SkyClubs
I walked into my friendly SkyClub this week and found a nice surprise. What better companion for a Blue Moon Draft Happy Hour than an orange garnish.
I love Blue Moon Belgium style beer. And I love Florida and oranges. So the addition of oranges to the SkyClub is welcomed. I poured a nice Blue Moon at the self pour station, nice pour I might add, and garnished with an orange. But I couldn’t help but notice, the oranges were in the snack section, so it started what I think is a big question.
Garnish Or Snack
Many people like oranges, and I’m sure I’m not the only one with this question. Is the addition of oranges meant to be another snack, a garnish for Belgium style beers, or a little of both?

Isn’t beer a snack? 😉
It’s certainly one of the major food groups.
Garnish for beer. I would think they’d offer a whole unpeeled orange if it was meant to be a snack.
Obviously, it’s both. It’s a garnish for the beer, which when finished, allows for a beer-soaked snack.
A snack
Both
At the size it’s sliced, a snack. Sliced thinner, garnish.
probably a snack…but no one is stopping you from using it as a garnish
Must be a snack.. it would not taste good in my chardonnay…
Snack clearly. Why add an orange to a perfectly good beer?

Looks like a snack. And I would guess that it will be a seasonal thing through late winter or early spring?
Oranges as a beer garnish? Maybe in Belgium, but doubtful anywhere else. I’m going with oranges as a snack.
Both for sure! It’s up to the consumer.
Garnish, Delta doesn’t want you eating anything of nutritional value.
Gosh…AAdvantagegeek ruins everything…what if this was a trick question…the beer is the snack:)
Teaser alert: the oranges were located to the left of the bowl of lemons and limes…seriously.
If the oranges were located next to the limes and lemons then garnishment. If not, a snack.
I think both.
I think both! But don’t let that limit you!
Both is definitely the only correct answer.
Both, indeed.
Both. For sure. Garnish as used with a beer (I agree- that’s a snack too!) and a snack. Although, you would have to load up on a few wedges to be a proper snack. You don’t have to peel the orange, which is nice.
This is certainly one of the better Delta changes lately.
You are awesome!
Both
Both. Love Blue Moon with a little orange.
Both
Either–the customer is always right!
Snack.
Like there is no crying in baseball –
There is no fruit in beer.
Only the occasional dropped pretzel is allowed in beer.
Definitely a snack
Probably meant as a healthy snack, but that it can do double duty as a garnish made it all the better.
Both
both!
Both!
Both! or Neither! but probably Both!
Both
Fruit in beer is always a bad combination for this purist. I like fruit. I like beer. I can eat them side by side, but I do not put fruit into my beer.
Even if lime and Corona.
both!
I would like it as a snack. Will be able to test this theory this afternoon.
Probably a snack. Not sure Delta is sophisticated enough to think outside the box.
Why not both plus the option of fresh squeezed OJ?
Snack.
Garnish, then a snack!
It is both! It is a snack because it was in the snack area, but it is a garnish because who would leave cut up oranges for snack? I would think they would leave whole oranges… 😀
Happy to report I have an official answer…that will be revealed on Friday along with the promotion winners. There is still time to enter and win the Free Gogo Wifi cards.
Who cares what it is? Just eat it! Mmmm!
No oranges at MSP Skyclub (near Gold concourse) on Wednesday, Oct 10.
