An upgrade to Delta’s 767 Internationally configured Business Class looked good at 5 days before departure. Even though Platinum elite members clear upgrades 5 days in advance, Delta held about 20 Business Class seats back until the day of departure.
The day of departure is when the upgrade occured. My first choice would have been seat 1G. But since the upgrade happened at the gate lottery, I ended up with a middle cabin aisle seat.
Delta’s Old Style Cradle Business Seats
I’ve flown these old style cradle seats a number of times. Each time I’m thankful that Delta has upgraded to the new lie-flat Business Class seats I had the pleasure to experience to Brussels this year.
As I walked to the back, I realized how open this configuration is for a Business Class cabin.
These seats look like the first Business Class seats Mrs Weekly Flyer and I took on our first anniversary trip to Paris.
And I remember how the seats in front of us almost reclined into our feet.
A view across this 2-2-2 configured Business Class cabin of Delta’s 767.
Bottom Line
Delta has all sorts of internationally configured planes flying Domestic routes. These include A330, 767 and 777 planes. If time permits, try to book one of these planes and you could find yourself in an International Business Class on a domestic flight.
Tomorrow is another day and another flight on a big plane. Tomorrow we’re taking flight in a 777. Extra credit for guessing tomorrow’s 777 route.
