On a recent trip between New York and Los Angeles, I got to experience Delta’s new enhanced meal service onboard this transcontinental flight. Delta currently flies a mixture of 767’s and 757’s between these two cities, both which offer lie-flat seats in Delta One.

As it was a dinner flight, it featured the signature menu from celebrity chef Michael Chiarello, which is a Mediterranean style menu.
Below is the choices of entrees onboard the dinner flights:
To start, I had a rum and coke, which was served with a bag of nuts. Note, Delta no longer serves hot nuts onboard, but these packaged ones aren’t half bad.
Next was the appetizer tray which consisted of marinated fennel and kalamata olives, salami, marinated goat cheese, arugula pesto spread and crostini. There was also a side salad which had oven-dried grapes and hazelnuts, a side of parmesan dip and warm bread.
Overall, I was very impressed with the appetizers onboard this flight.
For the entree I went with the short ribs, which were served in a red wine sauce with cheesy polenta triangles, pearl onions and vinegar, which I would highly recommend.
For dessert, the choice was between a selection of old world cheeses or salted caramel gelato. How could I say no to gelato, which is what I went for.

Try a special meal next time.
it’s “fettuccine” not “fettuccini” — if restaurants mispell Italian words that’s usually a sure sign that the meal is going to be pretty bad (for example, “Arrabiatta” instead of the correct “Arrabbiata”).
I was right behind you in 2A and I gotta admit I was happy with the service as well.
It has been like that for a while, however the service and offerings are much better than other US airlines.
