As previously announced, Starwood and Marriott will be changing several of their hotel categories. As recap, these annual category changes will take effect on March 7, 2017 and you can view the entire list online here, Marriott and Starwood.
It’s important to take a look at the list as if a hotel is going up in category, you’ll want to book it before it increases to lock in the current rate. Contrary, if it’s going down you’ll want to wait for the decrease.
As a reminder, American Express has just launched some limited time offers on both the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express and the Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express, where you can earn 35,000 bonus Starpoints per card for signing up and meeting the spending requirements. If you were to pick these both up, that would equate to 70,000 bonus Starpoints. You can view full details of these offers here.
