I receieved an email from Aeroplan informing of a promotion where you can earn an additional 1500 bonus miles with transfers from hotel programs.  The only catch is that the total points you transfer must equal 10,000 miles or more.   Registration is required, you can register here.

Dear Weeklyflyer,

Get more mileage out of all your reward programs. When you convert the points you accumulate every day through other loyalty programs into Aeroplan Miles, you can treat yourself sooner to unforgettable Aeroplan Rewards.
Your Aeroplan Team

Get rewarded faster with extra miles! Until April 30, register for our limited-time offer and earn 1,500 Bonus Aeroplan Miles when you convert your loyalty program points from one of our hotel partners—like Starwood, Marriott, Hilton, Choice and more—into 10,000 Aeroplan Miles.

Bottom Line

I view the 1500 miles as an added bonus to transferring miles already needed in an Aeroplan account.  There has been a lot of discussion on BoardingArea on how Air Canada is a great program, see this post on View From the Wing.  While this is a good bonus if you’ve already had a plan to transfer the points to miles, there have been better transfer promotions in the past as described in Lucky’s post.
