hi, i have a question and hope its not a stupid one :-).
Huby and i will be going to Busan ( PUS) june 20, 2012 from Houston (IAH) for a week.
when i price it out at UA or CO, it changes us to korean air or asian air and does not show miles accumlating for me thereafter. My question is , how do i get to busan with the most UA-CO miles, OR if i fly one of the asian airlines and join there FF program, can i then transfer those miles ( from an asian airline) to UA after they post?
@Karen – You cannot transfer the miles after they post in another program. You must add your UA / CO number to any reservation.
Try checking flights on matrix.itasoftware.com
If you are trying to credit miles to UA / CO do not purchase the flight with Korean Air, because they are SkyTeam and not Star Alliance, unless price is an issue.

Couldn’t you book the room with your card, then pay with the gift cards upon checkout? I think that would work for you to still get the benefit.
