As frequent travelers know, it’s easy to find yourself in a new location from one day to the next. Being in a new places is part of the excitement of traveling.  It’s always exciting to hear when there may be a free happy hour near you. Earlier this year I went to a tasting event in New York at Burgundy and had a great time. This tasting is brought to you by Macallan and could be in a number of places.

Macallan is a maker of single malt Scotch whisky that was first distilled in Scotland in 1824. The distillery produces a number of “expressions” including a 10, 12, 18, 25, and many people’s favorite, the 30 year old version.

You can find a Macallan event near you with a few simple steps.

You must be 21 or older to participate in the raise the Macallan tasting event.

Bottom Line

The majority of the events appear to be in major cities. A sample search for New York yielded many results.

  1. I want to second how great these are! Johnny Walker does these too (and gives a taste of the Blue). Jack Daniels doesn’t do them that often, but the one I went to in DC had a very nice BBQ spread to go with the tastings (and an open bar afterwards).
