  1. If you transfer SPG points into AA miles, you get a 25% bonus! For every 20,000 SPG points you transfer into miles, you get an extra 5,000 points. SPG points convert to AA miles 1:1. Which means for 20,000 SPG points, you get 25,000 AA miles!

  2. Just registered for Club Carlson’s 3 Big Night promos – 138,000 points for less than $200. Yes, please!

  3. Purchase bmi diamond club miles with 20% bonus now till June 30! Use it to redeem for amazing Star Alliance awards with the generous cash+award (ends on 31st May)or just transfer to Avios in July at a lower rate compared to purchasing Avios directly

  4. When booking awards at AA, LAX, JFK and a few other cities are international gateways allowing FREE stopovers. So rather than book, say, LHR to JFK, book LHR to HNL with an unlimited (almost) stopover in NY. And later finish itinerary with free flight to HNL!

  5. If you have membership reward points and looking to fly shorthaul flights, time to transfer some to British Airways for 50% bonus until May 31st.

  6. There’s a fairly new hotel booking site, Backbid.com, which has a unique spin. You submit your existing hotel reservation and preferences and Backbid has hotels in the same area bid, making you offers for a better deal, like a less expensive or upgraded room. I haven’t tried it yet, just read about it.

  7. Buy AA miles until the end of the month and get 30% bonus miles… sent via email today to me so I’m not sure if it’s targeted.

  8. If signing for investment accounts like Fidelity, look for the miles on sign up bonuses. Some of these are for first time customers only (e.g. United/American). However there are others like Delta which are also valid for existing customers. Double dipping these two offers can yield as many as 100,000 miles/points.

  9. The new Citi ThankYou Premier card offered on Citi’s website provides 60K TY points after spending $5K. 30K points after $2,500 in first three months of year 1, 30K more points after spending $2,500 in first three months of year 2. If you spend $2,499 on airfare to fly 30K miles (and you need to do this within months 1 & 2), you’ll get 30K Flight Points. Then spend $1 more in month 3 to make the TY points post, and the 30K Flight points will get converted into another 30K TY points. Do this again in year 2. So you’ll get 60K TY points per year, plus ~5K TY points for the spend, resulting in 125K total TY points. These can be converted to $1,662.50 in free airfare that still earns miles and is eligible for upgrades. Subtract a $125 annual fee for the second year only (first year waived) and you get $1,537.50 in value from a single card–and that’s value toward flights that earn even more miles in the program of your choice.

  10. On the AAdvantage eShopping mall, Restaurants.com is offering 18 miles per dollar spent. Give your dad a restaurant gift card for Father’s Day (and then fly him some place eventually with the miles.) 🙂

  11. Truly Free one way ticket – If you are booking award flights from the West Coast to Hawaii, on the return leg do a stopover on the West Coast, and then book the ticket through to the East Coast (NYC, WAS, etc.) – gives you a “free” one way ticket.

  12. I’ve found that you should consider booking 1/2 your trip in miles and do a multiple-city check on the way back for extreme excursions. I managed RDU to BRU to LHR to EGYPT to NY to RDU for $600, and 20,000 miles last year- and yes we got miles for the return trip through London, Egypt and NY!

Right now there’s also a great deal on (cough) United of about $269 from CLT to SFO. That’s Round trip too.

  13. I stlll think that buying the $300 gift card at 10% discount at costco is a great deal. I purchased some myself, and am looking forward to flying somewhere for a vacation while earning miles. (Actually, I like to book my family on award and fly myself so I earn more miles…spoken by a true frequent flier…)

Also, the limit of 100,000 is for a total of 3 prizes? Hmm. That’s sweepstakes odd. What are the chances? 🙂

  14. Get 40%off at Hilton Hotels fully flexible rates, by booking by August 30, 2012 and staying by September 30th, 2012

  16. Use your SPG Amex to purchase discounted AA gift cards at Costco at a 10% discount. You not only get a discount on the fare, all the miles available and elite qualifying miles but you potentially get 1.25 AAdvantage miles per dollar spent on every dollar you spent on the Amex that could be used for more miles on AA.

  20. When booking awards at AA, LAX, JFK and a few other cities are international gateways allowing FREE stopovers. So rather than book, say, LHR to JFK, book LHR to HNL with an unlimited (almost) stopover in NY. And later finish itinerary with free flight to HNL!

  21. Applying for 2 Citi cards to get 100k AAdvantage miles (I was able to get into this deal when the 75k was live)

  22. Using avios to book short haul flights on AA. Great to use on 1st class seats from DFW/CUN. Then I save my valuable AA miles for something else.

  23. Turkish has extremely low fares to Europe with a stop-over in Istanbul. Cheap way to get to Istanbul plus see another city.

I found WAS-DUB through IST for sub-$400 rt all in using Google ITA.

  24. The US Bank FlexPerks card gives 3 times points for charitable giving. So if you give $7k per year in charitable giving, that’s a free ticket (up to $400).

  25. Using 135k aadvanatge miless for a first class seat on cathay pacific 1st class!

  26. In order to get qualified for the 50k+5k+10k bonus on United, you must have miles in your United account. If you’re new to United, you can use their online shopping portal to simply purchase one iTunes song, and get 3 miles. This will then allow you to log in to your United account, and be able to apply for the higher bonus offer. No flights or expensive purchases needed.

  27. Hotels.com takes up to 30% off select hotel stays during its Check-In, Cash Out Summer Sale. Plus, spend $150 or more and get a free $25 Prepaid Visa Card, spend $250 or more and get a free $50 Prepaid Visa Card, or spend $450 or more and get a free $100 Prepaid Visa Card.

  28. Before flying on AA, check with your local Costco to see if they have American Airlines gift cards in stock. You pay $270 for a $300 card. This is especially good if you have another percentage off discount, like from the Entertainment book.

  29. Between now and August 31st, you can earn up to 20,000 miles through participating airlines when staying at Hyatt properties: quadruple points for the second and third stays and quintuple points for the fourth-plus stays (capped at 11 stays total).

  30. My favorite travel deal EVER is the Southwest Companion Pass. In addition to traveling with my husband to both coasts (we live in the Midwest) 3 or 4 times this year, I’ve also switched companions (the rules include allowing up to 3 changes per year) so far twice, and taken my sister along on a couple of quick trips. The companion pass is a terrific deal and lots of fun!

  31. Wow, these are pretty amazing tips!

Mine’s not so revolutionary: I used couchsurfing.org to travel around the world without paying for hotels! But the best “deal”? It’s how I met my boyfriend!

  32. In exchange for a single smile: three nights in an Old Town Prague apartment. Be friendly: every travel experience will be exponentially improved.

  33. If you post 99,964 more times, you have a good chance of winning 1000 miles from points miles and martinis 🙂

  34. Use http://www.evreward.com to get airline and hotel miles and points from purchases you make every day! Many stores have free same-day store pickup, so you can get points AND instant gratification on your purchase.

  35. Best travel deal is being invited by Norwegian cruise line to cruise in an inside cabin in Europe or other select cruises for FREE!! Yes that is right, free. All I have to pay is airfare to Venice for a 7 day Greek isles cruise in an inside cabin for me and my guest! All inclusive, subject to taxes. Approx 1000 a person for a 7 day all inclusive trip in Europe? Score!!!

  36. instead of spending a lot of money to get BA miles ….sign up for the BA Chase card by “purchasing” a ticket. you get 50k miles on first purchase and another 50k on your anniversary for a $150 fee (annual fees not waived).

  37. I believe that the Club Carlson deal is the best out there right now. Upon registration and qualification, you receive 50,000 points for any one Radisson stay, 44,000 points each for a Park Inn stay & a Country Inn stay for a grand total of 138,000 points!

This, in addition to points you’d normally receive for a stay and any other eligible bonuses.

  38. Join e-rewardscto earn Aadvantage miles or Priority Club or Hilton Points

  39. Register for the Country Inn promotion (Club Carlson). Book a room using Top Cashback (10%). I found a room for $66 in Fresno CA. They also have a Radisson, and Park Inn.

  40. For us Canadians, about the only way to collect AA miles is to transfer directly from the RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) Avion Platinum or Infinite Visa to AA. About once a year there is also a 25% transfer bonus offered. So a nice bonus from PM&M would be greatly appreciated:-)It would be so nice if AA offered one of their cards up here again. Anyone listening AA?
