The night before we visited an amazing wedding at the Sandpearl. So it was nice to relax with family and enjoy a full breakfast with a view of the beach.

As most loyal readers know, we here at Points, Miles & Martinis like Hyatt Diamond breakfast options. Hyatt provides their top tier elite members with a complimentary breakfast option when there are no club lounges. Unlike the Hyatt Regency Aruba which had a club lounge, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater does not.

We’ve enjoyed fine complimentary Hyatt Diamond breakfast at hotels like the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, Park Hyatt Washington DC, Park Hyatt Sydney, Park Hyatt Tokyo, Hyatt 48 / Lex and Andaz, and a number of other properties. In this post, we’ll explore the Hyatt Diamond breakfast option at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater. But that’s not all. We’ll also cover the fantastic lunch we had on the terrace overlooking the beach at the Hyatt.

Trip Report

Hyatt Diamond Breakfast

The breakfast is served at Shore, the American seafood bar and grill located at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater. The restaurant resembles their name because it is literally on the shore of the Gulf of Mexico right across a small street from Clearwater Beach.

Hyatt Breakfast View

We enjoyed a nice umbrella covered table on the patio outside. One could also take up a number of seats inside near the buffet.

Hyatt Breakfast 6

The buffet food was well prepared. The hot meal items included grilled vegetables, amazing hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage, and a few other items.

Hyatt Breakfast 4

The bread and pastries were stocked and included one of my favorites, the chocolate croissant.

Hyatt Breakfast 2

The buffet also had an excellent assortment of fresh fruit. The peeled grapefruit is a must while in Florida.

Hyatt Breakfast 3

The coffee was flowing this morning, especially after a long night at a wedding party.

I went with an assortment of items from the buffet and everything was very tasty.

Hyatt Lunch

It really took a long time to work up an appetite after that huge breakfast. But after a while at the beach with family, we headed back to Shore for a great lunch. We’re no strangers to the Hyatt Cheeseburger. The last time we had one was at the Hyatt Tampa Bay, so we were looking forward to it again.

We enjoyed the same great view during our lunch but this time we had a much larger table to accommodate our additional family members.

Lunch View

The lunch started with pretzel bread which came with a seasoned butter.

When ordering lunch a special item caught my attention that I hadn’t tried in years (notice I didn’t say since I was a kid – because it wasn’t that long ago 🙂 .) The root beer float was too good to pass up.

The root beer float came with a mug of vanilla ice cream and bottle of root beer ready to pour.

I couldn’t resist a slow pour to add to the drama.

Hyatt Root Beer Float 3

Soon the mug nearly overflowed and I had to slow my roll or it would have. But the final product was well worth the slow pour. Next time you are here, I’d urge you to live it up with one of these tasty root beer floats.

Since we had such a large breakfast, and few appetizers, we decided to split the Hyatt Cheeseburger. The restaurant prepared the burger on two separate plates which was a very nice gesture.

Hyatt Famous Cheeseburger

To finish off the lunch, we shared a little lemon tart with strawberry dressing. All I can say is Mmmm!

Bottom Line

The Hyatt Regency really takes care of their Hyatt Diamond members for breakfast. This is one of the best loyalty amenities out there and is the main reason we keep coming back to Hyatt for business and pleasure.

Not to be outdone by breakfast, the lunch offering was equally as good and tasty.

Next up, we’ll share the restaurant that has got to be the best Margarita on Clearwater beach. Then we’ll share a detailed review of our 2 bedroom suite we stayed in on our Hyatt points.
