I’ve mentioned Delta’s “Have One On Us” (HOOU) program in the past. This is the program that rewards Medallion members with free drinks when they check-in online to print a boarding pass. But it isn’t always clear how to get these drink coupons to show up when you check in. So we thought a simply walk-through of how to get these coupons to show up and available to print would be helpful.

Have One On Us Program

Delta launched Sky Priority, a service for Gold elite members or above. One of the best parts about Sky Priority is the free drinks you get when you check-in online at Delta.com. If you check-in online and are at least a Gold elite member, there is a high likelihood you will receive a Have One On Us coupon.

The coupon is good for:

• One Cocktail;
• One Beer;
• One Wine;
• or a non-perishable snack

Leading Practices

Here are a few leading practices to get your “Have One On Us” drink coupons to appear during the check-in process.

• Do not check-in with your mobile device
• Check-in online
• Print your boarding pass WITH weather & destination content

Step By Step Process To Get Drink Coupons To Show Up

Step 1) Open your flight reservation at Delta.com

Step 2) Select The “Check-In” Button

If your flight is within the next 24 hours, you will be able to check-in online at Delta.com. A “check-in” button will appear next to the reservation.

You’ll then see the “Have One On Us” within your boarding document. Note: this WILL NOT get you a free drink. You will need one with a bar code on it. So keep going to the next step.

Step 3) Select Get Documents

I usually select the option to print the boarding document. Then I create a PDF version and send to my email. That way, I can pull up the HOOU coupon on my phone in-flight. The flight attendants can scan the coupon right from your phone.

Step 4) Select “Print Boarding Document”

This step is most important. select “Print Boarding Document”, DO NOT “print without weather & destination content or you will not receive the HOOU drink coupon.

Step 5) View Your Boarding Pass With HOOU Coupon

If you followed the steps above, you should see a HOOU coupon that looks like the one below. Note: I’ve removed part of the entire barcode and the coupon number.

Step 6) Enjoy Your Drink In-flight

Bottom Line

Delta’s “Have One On Us” program provides Gold Medallion members and above with a complimentary drink when they aren’t upgraded.

If you like having a happy hour on Delta like we do, and are at least a Gold Medallion member, make sure you check in online and print your boarding pass before heading to the airport.
