We are only 5 days away from the FTU in Tampa Bay, Florida this coming weekend. That can only mean one thing, First Class upgrades are starting to clear for all the frequent flyers heading to Tampa this weekend.
I love free upgrades to First Class, especially when they are on award tickets. Since I’m a Delta Medallion (Platinum the easy way) I receive complimentary upgrades to First Class, even on award tickets. So I wasn’t totally surprised that my upgrade down to Tampa cleared at the 5 day window, but it was unusual given the amount of frequent flyer junkies heading down to Tampa this coming weekend.

One of the best things about flying Delta airlines is that you are almost guaranteed to have wifi on your flight, unless you are flying some flights in or out of Grand Rapids. You can even see the little wifi signal in the picture above showing that your flight has wifi. We’d love to hear from you on your upgrade to First Class and wifi this weekend.

I am a Diamond Medallion and I am flying on Thursday,(3 days from now) and my upgrades have not cleared yet. Seating is available and the legs are JAN/ATL and ATL/LGA. This has happened on a couple of other occasions and just makes no sense.
All of my flights have Wi Fi.

My upgrade never clears, I am a ‘tin’ medallion (delta amex gold card). Gogo is on all my flights and I use it.
I wish I was going but I’m working this weekend. Have a great time for me and hopefully my next flight will have wifi!

Flying next week, and I pretty sure that as a silver medallion I won’t clear. But at least we have exit row seats. I could use the wifi – going to New Mexico.

Not flying this week but my upgrade cleared on a Saturday with a companion NYC-RSW. Didn’t clear on the way back Monday morning. I am newly-minted gold (the moderately hard way).
Incredibly enough, I’ll be flying into Tampa tomorrow but for a conference in Orlando instead, so no FTU for me.
Let’s see how many frequent flyers I run into on the way there. 🙂
klm silver and already 3 times got upgraded… Usually on Mia-JFK route… So, silver does work…
My upgrade never clears (cause I have no status). I do find that the GoGo access takes some of the sting out of traveling with the rest of the cattle though.

I’m not going to FTU but i fly to SJC via MSP on Thursday. I’m a Platinum and i cleared the upgrade to 1st on my 2nd leg, MSP to SJC but not the 1st from LGA to MSP. I’m not sure why even though 1/2 the 1st class seats are still open. Thoughts? And yes, WiFi all the way to San Jose!

This weekend, first time ever for free upgrade-economy to economy plus. Have lots of CC miles, but no elite status. Gave the upgrade to my wife after boarding the plane!
I am traveling this weekend to MCO. I have 1 of 2 segments upgraded so far. I’ll try and attend FTU for 1 day. All flights have Wifi. Gogo would be nice!
