Am I reading this right? This airline is really giving there members a free ticket after only a 1 hour delay?
The completion of the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Olympic Air from Aegean brings significant benefits to our passengers…
The policy of Aegean providing a free ticket* in case of a delayed departure is now implemented by Olympic Air too…
Significant benefits for all passengers I’d say.
Now for the fine print.
This policy applies: for the domestic flight network, in the case of a delay or more than one hour, caused by the airline. For the international flight network, in the case of a delay of more than two hours, caused by the airline.
Bottom Line
According to their policy, Aegean offers a free ticket after a 1 hour delay on a domestic flight and a 2 hour delay on an international flight.
Is it me or is this policy excessively generous?

It’s Greece – just how things are here! Aegean’s whole program is pretty generous.
Always the gotcha of ’caused by the airline’. Sounds fair at first blush, though airlines do love to say that anything that happens is the weathers fault, even if it was just a butterfly farting in San Diego that caused your flight to be delayed. Don’t know if other airlines are quite as egregious in that respect as the US carriers or not. There are blackout dates as well…
Overall, yeah its pretty generous, though it has the potential to be not as generous as it’d appear.
