I just got word that American Express plans to increase the annual fee for the American Express Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card will be increasing on May 1st, 2014 from $150 to $195 per year. EXPIRED
Delta Amex Platinum Card
However, for those who apply before May 1st, the current annual fee of $150 will apply for the first year. The current sign up bonus for this card is 35,000 bonus SkyMiles plus 5,000 MQM’s after spending $1,000 in the first 90 days.
In addition, earn a $100 Statement Credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months meaning that the first yea you’re basically only paying $50 for 5,000 MQM’s.
Another great thing about this card is the MQM boosts that are built in.
If you make $25,000 in purchases and earn 10,000 bonus miles and 10,000 MQMs each calendar year; make $50,000 in purchases and earn an additional 10,000 bonus miles and 10,000 MQMs each calendar year.
Lastly, for those are looking to keep their Medallion status, you must now meet Delta’s Medallion Qualifying Dollar requirement. However if you have this card or any other Delta card and spend $25,000 per year on it then you are exempt for this new requirement.
See airline credit card offers page for current offers.
yes but isn’t the signup bonus in pesos?
Many people forget this card gives you a by 1 get 1 free ticket on delta each year so the $195 fee still is not that bad if the ticket you get free is usually over $200
Those are of existing cardholders have notice in our statements this month that the fee for us goes up May 1.
