Back in February we shared the news that Delta was running a promotion to offer Platinum status and another one for Gold status for only taking a Business Elite flight. It turns out that promotion is still available until March 31, 2014, but with slightly different (and more limiting) restrictions.
They apparently changed the terms after announcing the promotion when they realized that folks could book a domestic Business Elite flight and technically qualify for the promotion.
One reader was even successful at getting the status offer honored by taking such a domestic Business Elite flight.
I booked a business elite flight from ATL – LGA before they updated the promotion terms. When I wasn’t credited with the promotion, I wrote a letter to Delta and included my receipts. To their credit, they honored the promotion for me and credited my SkyMiles account accordingly. I am now a Gold Medallion member through Feb of next year.
So it appears Mary was able to get the original terms honored by writing a letter to Delta and including all of her receipts. This is interesting news for other folks who may have jumped in on the offer based on the original terms of the promotion.
Bottom Line
Has anyone else been successful at getting this targeted offer honored?
