A brief few words about Points, Miles & Martinis after a humble start and 5 years in the making.
I started this blog with a buddy back in 2009 after a long night on the road talking about the better aspects of travel…the times when you can redeem points and miles for awesome trips where you can spend time with family or friends enjoying yourself.
We are just a few regular guys who like to travel. Sure, we miss our family, children, fiancé’s, wives and girlfriends when traveling just like everyone else. There are four of us blogging here at Points, Miles & Martinis, The Weekly Flyer (Yours Truly), The Captain, Alex and a good guy blogging under the handle Pointsmilesandmartinis. From our humble beginnings we started this blog and feel blessed with the readership that has followed.
Shortly after our start on blogger in 2009, we were picked up with Boarding in January of 2010 and kept on going in ambiguity. Some how and some way we gathered a readership…that kept on growing.
The blog was just an extension of personal travel tips turned into a blog. We recently shared the inspiration for the photo at the top of the blog in this post. If you aren’t familiar you should check it out, the island has some of the best beaches in the world and is easily accessible using points and miles from the mainland USA without having to travel half way around the world.
We passed 1,000,000 viewers this year at the quickest pace ever and didn’t flinch. That’s because we are focused on what keeps us going, points, miles and the pursuit of having fun while on the road.
We decided to keep the beach picture and logo at the top. It is what keeps us going when travel on the road gets tuff. A way to remind us of the fruits of our labor for traveling non-stop and a way to redeem points and miles for stuff we like to do as opposed to work instead of spending time at the beach. What do you think about the changes in the picture below that will be implemented tomorrow morning?
Tomorrow marks a new milestone, a new theme for the Points, Miles & Martinis blog. You can take a sneak peek at the new blog theme in the picture above. A few changes will likely ensue, but one things for sure, our drive and passion for travel will stay the same.
We have assembled a small friendly crew of friends who write a Points, Miles & Martinis. If you haven’t already done so, check out our about us page here to learn more.
If you’ve been with us from the beginning or just recently joined, we’d love to hear from you in the comments.
What have you learned?
What are you savings your points or miles for?
What keeps you going on the road?
Thanks for reading and supporting Points, Miles & Martinis. We look forward to many more years to come.
