Update: Appears the site is back up. Anyone get a free direct booked ticket while it was down?
Delta’s website is currently down. This not only tells me that Delta’s website is temporarily broken, but some could argue that was already the case with their award booking engine. Instead, it tells me that for a limited time, you may be able to book over the phone and save on direct ticketing fees. So if you were looking to book that complex award and avoid the $25 direct ticketing fee, now may be the time.

It’s working for me.
Not exactly with DL but similar enough. I was booking a ticket through the AMEX portal where you get 2X MR points, and the website was having issues. Called to complete the transaction and asked if I still would get the double MR points because it was not booked on-line and was told that since it was their problem, I would still get the bonus. It always pays to ask.
