Last Saturday the Holiday Inn had a ‘soft opening’ of the tallest Holiday Inn in the world, and that record is currently being held by the Holiday Inn Manhattan-Financial District.
IHG Opens The Tallest Holiday Inn In The World
According to the IHG website the 50 floor, 492-room building has:
Fantastic views abound on the upper floors of the tallest Holiday Inn in the world. Great views of the Hudson River and New Jersey skyline, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the 911 Memorial. Our location is great whether you are here on business or visiting the great city. Ease of transportation to all areas of Manhattan and the outer boros.
This is the 22nd Holiday Inn property to open in New York City and:
“This beautiful hotel embodies our commitment to provide our guests what they value most when they are travelling — the contemporary design, modern amenities, and warm, welcoming service that distinguishes the Holiday Inn brand.”
Bottom Line:
This looks like a spiffy new Holiday Inn property. I have a free night at an IHG property thru the IHG® Rewards Club Select Credit Card, which gave me 60,000 points the first year, and a free night in the second year for the $49 annual fee, however, a room at the Holiday Inn Manhattan – Financial District was listed for $161.19 for Saturday night, November 16, so it might not be the best redemption of a free night. Then again, New York City is beautiful in the fall.
I live a couple blocks from it and I must say for a Holiday Inn, the lobby decor is very nice looking. But it doesn’t hurt that its just opened.
