One of the reasons why Hyatt is overall my favorite hotel chain is because I like Hyatt Place hotels on the value end of the brand, and I love Park Hyatt hotels on the luxury side of the scale. I’ve been able to redeem Hyatt Points and Cash + Points at six different Park Hyatt hotels, and I am excited to visit more in 2015, including the following Park Hyatt hotels scheduled to open in 2015
Park Hyatt Zanzibar – Zanzibar is a chain of islands in the Indian Ocean off of Tanzania, which is on the Eastern side of Africa. It’s going to be a small Park Hyatt, with just 67 rooms including 11 suites, but they will all have views of the Indian Ocean. A key feature of the property is going to be an oceanfront infinity pool facing the local beach.
Park Hyatt Marrakech – Marrakech is a major city in the northwest African nation of Morocco. The Park Hyatt is 15 minuets from the airport, and 15 minutes from the Old Town. It will have 131 rooms, and 44 deluxe villas.Park Hyatt St. Kitts – St. Kitts is about 1,300 miles southeast of Miami, FL, and west side of the island borders the Caribbean Sea, and the eastern coast faces the Atlantic Ocean. The 134 rooms will have contemporary architecture with a colonial feel. It will also feature suites with private roof-top pools overlooking the island of Nevis. Park Hyatt Bangkok – has a Facebook page since June 2014, but is not officially on the list found at http://www.park.hyatt.com/en/parkhyatt/locations.html It’s scheduled to open late in 2015. Bottom Line:
The new Park Hyatt that I am most excited about vising in 2015 is in Marrakech. As much as I would love to visit Zanzibar, it seems awfully remote. The Park Hyatt in Bangkok is also a strong possibility in 2015. And of course, there are plenty of existing Park Hyatt hotels I need to visit, including the property in Sydney overlooking the Opera House. Anyone have any memorable Park Hyatt visits to share?
Zanzibar is hardly remote. Easy flight into Dar Es Salaam and boat or something plane there. You’re good! Go!
Zanzibar is great and isn’t that remote. Go for a safari in East Africa then pop over to Zanzibar to unwind after a few days “roughing” it on the land. When in Zanzibar visit Freddy Mercurys for sure. Fun vibe there.
