Some people think US Airways is under rated while others have more nicknames for this carrier than ever.

For me, it all comes down to experience. And on this evening flight across country, with 2 kids and 4 adults in our party all in First Class, we had a good experience. To cap it off, we had one of the best little pieces of pie in the sky.

After the main course, the trays were cleared and drinks were refilled. For a moment I was a little let down that there would be no dessert. That is until I saw the First Class flight attendant come down the aisle with a tray of key lime pie goodness.

Even after a long weekend eating rich food at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe, I couldn’t resist this tart little tongue pleaser.

This pie was good. I was it down with a diet coke and then turned to the window where I noticed the half (quarter?) moon.

Then the night was complete. The entire family in First Class at the low award level-check. No delays-check. Great dessert-check. And to top it off we had a half moon as we approached our destination.

On this flight everything went perfect and US Airways delivered.

Have you ever had a flight where everything just went right? When and where was it?

  1. I recently enjoyed that pie as well. It far exceeded the UNeatable burrito they offered for breakfast on a morning flight. It was the worst airline food I ever had.

Guess we have to take the good with the bad

  2. I believe the word you were looking for is “crescent.” Waxing crescent, if you want to be specific.
