Every year, SPG publishes a year end summary called “A Year To Remember” with some of the most interesting statistics of the Starwood Preferred Guest program. The most noteworthy of the bunch in 2014:Yes, one member earned over 21 million Starpoints in 2014. So the question quickly becomes, “how did they do that?” Some possibilities:
- Incredible spending on the SPG Amex business and/or personal card
- Booking a number of large meetings and events at expensive Starwood properties
- Booking incredibly expensive suites, keeping in mind the 3 room per night limit for earning points.
There were other interesting facts listed in the SPG 2014: A Year To Remember as well:Bottom Line:
This is a fun year-end wrap up, but I am still super curious as to how anyone can earn more than 21 million Starpoints in a year. Anyone else have any good theories on how to rack up points balance like this?

Did you heard a Chinese collector paid $422 Millions for an antique cup using Amex, if he is using SPG Amex he will get 422 Millions Points… but if you that rich do you really care about Star Points?
