Delta Sends Apology Emails By Mistake With No Compensation

I just received an email from Delta apologizing about my recent flights with the title “We Owe You One”. When I saw the email, I was thinking maybe they were offering 25,000 free miles for a free flight or at least some miles, however that was not the case. I just got a 3 sentence apology which I thought was interesting.

Screen Shot 2015-01-15 at 8.35.32 PMHere’s what the email said:

WE’RE SORRY FOR YOUR RECENT INCONVENIENCE.
We notice your latest flights with us haven’t been the smoothest. Rough weather, mechanical issues, bad luck — regardless of the cause, you can’t get back the time lost.

But we would like to proactively offer our sincerest apologies and our strong commitment to deliver the best on-time record in the industry.

Rain or shine, we are up to the challenge and hope you’ll give us another chance.

Bottom Line

If Delta is going to send out apology emails to their Medallion members who’ve experienced multiple flight delays recently, they should at least offer some miles in my opinion. What does everyone else think?

  1. Got the same thing. Wondered also if this was a mistake, but then again, this is just like Delta to pull that kind of stunt

  2. I got the email today, except that it said I would get 2000 miles if I followed the link. I clicked the link and got a messahe that I was not eligable.

    Go figure.

Diamond Medallion with 121,000 carry over miles into 2015.

  3. I am Diamond and I was offered 5,000 miles but when I clicked the link it says I was ineligible. And I have not flow Delta in 2 months.

  4. Got it as well. PM here … offered 2000 miles. Clicked on the link and page shows “not eligible for promotion”.

    No bueno Amigos!

  5. Worthless. If got one for every delay or cancel through LAX on SkyWest and a lesser extent Compass I could fly to Sydney on an award.

  6. Got a second email last night that worked. Not much but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick…..
