Southwest Airlines has finally launched mobile boarding passes that are compatible with Apple’s Passbook. You can learn more about Southwest mobile boarding passes and the participating airports here.
Southwest Airlines Launches Mobile Boarding Passes
Per Southwest, customers may now store their mobile boarding passes in a convenient and easy-to-use location on their mobile devices. Mobile boarding passes can be downloaded directly to Passbook which operates on Apple devices running iOS6 or later.
Mobile boarding passes can be saved in the Passbook app when checking in through the Southwest Airlines mobile app, saving an emailed boarding pass in Passbook, or saving a text message boarding pass in Passbook.
Bottom Line
I don’t fly Southwest Airlines much, but it’s nice that they’ve made their mobile boarding passes compatible with Passbook, since you don’t need internet to view your pass in passbook, whereas you did if you wanted to view it on their mobile site.
