American Airlines is running a limited time campaign where they are honoring their heritage from more than 9 airlines that now form the world’s largest airline.

On a recent flight from Los Angeles to London on an American Airlines 777-300 we received a TWA amenity kit. I think it’s kinda cool.

But on a more recent flight back from London to Los Angeles we received an even more rare relic of the past.

The previous TWA amenity kit is rare but more we’ll known. This Reno Air kit is rare but much less well known.

The thing I like most about it is the green snow capped mountains on the inside.

So far we’ve been able to collect two of the 9 limited time amenity kits. We are on our way to collect them all. How many have you collected so far and which is your favorite one?

  1. I agree. They didn’t let me pick, but this might have been my pick anyway. Although I do have my eye on a Piedmont one, has anyone seen one of those yet?

  2. I used to fly from SJC-LAX all the time as a child on Reno Air. This brings back some very fond memories, including my first ever domestic F upgrade flying solo for something like $30 one way. I would love one of these, and the PSA kit. Used to fly that a lot as an even younger youngster.

I heard its supposed to double as a case for an ipad mini. Does that look accurate?

  3. Thanks for the pic so I don’t have to open mine and I can keep it as an unopened collectable.

  4. Hi Brandon – Wow, your first person I’ve heard who’s actually flown Reno air. Are there more of you? It does double as a case, and a nice one at that. Unfortunately ours has already opened and the contents used, otherwise we’d give it away.

  5. I’m another fan of the former Reno Air. At 6’7″, I loved the affordable first class upgrades ($30 sounds correct) and earning AAdvantage miles. Mostly LAX-SJC and LAX-TUS.

Are these only available in Business Class? I have an upcoming AA 777-300 award flight in First Class. I would trade that kit for this Reno Air kit!
