Airbnb has some amazing offerings for homes, shared spaces and really unique properties. I have noticed how fast the popularity of Airbnb has become since I started blogging about it only about 6 months ago. Airbnb seems to have some serious momentum right now!

Airbnb’s Fastest Growing Market

The Miami Herald reports that Cuba is Airbnb’s fastest growing market. According to the article, Airbnb opened up Cuba as an Airbnb destination 40 days ago with 1,000 property offerings. Today, they already have 2,000 properties!

Airbnb's Fastest Growing Market

Airbnb’s Chief Executive Brian Chesky said, “Forty days ago we launched in Cuba, we launched with 1,000 homes in Cuba — today we now have 2,000 homes,†he said in an interview on Bloomberg Television. “I don’t think we’ve ever had a market grow as fast as Cuba.â€

“San Francisco-based Airbnb last month became one of the first U.S. companies to begin operations in Cuba after Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro said in December they would restore diplomatic ties after more than 50 years. While Americans still are banned from visiting Cuba as tourists, the policy changes remove several restrictions on travel and trade between the two countries.”

 Bottom Line

If you haven’t tried Airbnb, what are you waiting for? Airbnb has amazing options that can really be more cost effective than hotels, especially when you plan to stay for a while. The amenities also can be much more comfortable, with whole houses available. I personally have a sweet house booked for an upcoming family vacation at the beach in Florida! If you haven’t already, you can signup and get a free $25 off your next stay with Airbnb.
