Bottom Line

Starwood‘s presence in the Caribbean isn’t that huge but it is growing. However depending on the specific property and the category you may find that you’re able to get a good value out of redeeming Starpoints rather than paying cash.

The Platinum Card from American Express offers complimentary annual SPG Gold status just for having the card, so that is something else to consider.
