Hat Tip: Mighty Travels
It turns out to be a bait and switch. Tried twice checking out and each time they claim there are no cars available. They “recommend” another vehicle which has a huge rental fee. Hotwire is the king of bait and switch. They often send you emails with great prices however when you try to price it out online the prices are significantly higher.
Agreed that Hotwire can be very tricky with bait-and-switch tactics. They do not do one-way rentals but may leave you with that impression if you click through from another site. Terms can change from your initial entry and details not shown on the payment page. Beware and very careful when using the mobile app. Better not to use the no-refund lowball option I think.
