As previously posted here, American Airlines refreshed their onboard meals for domestic first class, which went into effect on August 1st.
The new menu brings a modern, healthier approach to classic dishes such as lentil chili with polenta cake and shrimp and grits, while introducing new signature dishes and expanding vegetarian options. American stated that they have tweaked the menu to better match their customers’ current dining habits, such as doing away with heavy sauces.
Review: American Airlines First Class Breakfast
New options include:
- an entree salad with pecan crusted chicken on the side, accompanied by a shrimp cocktail appetizer (lunch)
- beef filet with lobster mac and cheese, accompanied by an appetizer of antipasto skewers (dinner)
- a strawberry ice cream dessert with chocolate shavings by Ben & Jerry’s
We had another opportunity to sample one of the refreshed options this past week on American and found it to be very good! Here is an omelette on a morning, breakfast flight from ORD to SNA with American. Everything was very fresh and tasted good! Again with the meal like the refreshed shrimp entree that we review the other day, this was free of heavy, unhealthy sauces! The fruit was fresher then usual and the biscuit was very good!
Bottom Line
Have you had a chance to experience American’s new meals yet either onboard or in the Flagship Lounges?
That the same exact inedible Omelette they have been serving. It is in my opinion the worst breakfast served on airplanes. The herbed potatoes smell nasty and DO NOT ever taste fresh and the Omelette is usually sitting in a puddle of water. The biscuit is still the same bland biscuit warmed up from a plastic bag ( I saw them remove the biscuits from the plastic bag) I wonder how much AA paid for that review 🙂
I liked it and thought that it was better then usual:)
I agree with Ryan. No change they have been serving this omelette for years. No bueno.
