THIS APRIL, WE’RE INTRODUCING THE NEW STARBUCKS REWARDS™

It’s an exciting new program that reflects the #1 request we heard from members: more Stars awarded based on what you buy, no matter how often you visit.

The things you love about the program today—like birthday drinks, free refills and access to order and pay ahead with your phone—are staying the same. The big news is that, in the new Starbucks Rewards, you’ll earn 2 Stars for every $1 you spend, which means more Stars for your favorites—from coffee and drinks to food, mugs and more.

MORE STARS THAN EVER

Collecting Stars is simple: You’ll earn 2 Stars for every $1 you spend, no matter what you spend it on. You’ll also have additional opportunities to earn more Stars with special offers, as well as monthly Double-Star Days for Gold members.

And it’s not just your dollars that will earn you more Stars. In the new program, your change will count towards partial Stars. We’ll keep track of those partial Stars and apply them to your Star total.

Bottom Line

For some people this will be a big change. What do you think of the new Starbucks Rewards program terms? Does this change make it harder or easier for you to get freebies at Starbucks? Post a comment!

  1. this doesn’t sound better to me… screwed again… what do u want with a liberal left winger running it,,,

  2. If your average transaction size is greater than $5 then you will reach status and get the free drinks faster. If not, then this change will hurt you.

  3. So right now I get 1 free drink every 12. I get tall coffee every day so for $1.95 x12 =$23.40 I get a freebie! New rules I get 2 stars for ever dollar so in the same time I would have 64 stars. Half of what I need (125) stars for a free drink. So the devalued their stars by half! Time to start brewing at home!

  4. I stopped coming there when they refused to go GMO-free. I prefer local coffee shops. I will go now to get that 12th star before April and ciao bambino.
