If you’re looking for a cheap way to get from Toronto Pearson airport to downtown, then you’ll be interested in hearing how to take public transportaion into the city.

This option costs $3.25 CAD and will take about 60 minutes door to door. One thing to note is that you must have exact change so be sure to exchange some money before proceeding to the bus.

Once you’ve landed and collected your bags proceed to the arrivals level and follow the signs to the buses.

Once outside you’re then looking for the “Public Transit Transport public” which is across the street and from there you’ll want to take the 192 Rocket bus.

You can wait in the bus waiting area, which is nice that it’s covered if there is inclement weather.

It took about 7 minutes, and the 192 Rocket bus came, which takes you directly to the subway station called Kipling Station. It’s about a 10-15 minute ride to the subway station. Reminder, when you get on the bus, make sure to get a free transfer for the subway.

Once at the Kipling station, head downstairs to the subway where you can take either train since is the last stop, so these both will be heading in the right direction. I only had to wait about 3 minutes for the subway to leave.

It was about a 25 minute ride to St George, where you then have to transfer to a downtown bound train and then you can take that to the closest stop downtown, depending on where you’re looking to go to.

Bottom Line

You can’t beat this cheap method to get into Toronto for only $3.25 CAD. Have you taken the subway into the city before?

  1. I use the TTC all the time to and from downtown Toronto. I’ve actually clocked a time of 48 min once 🙂 And as you mentioned $3.25 can’t be beat!

  2. Pearson Express is much quicker and easier from YYZ to Union Station. Prices were just reduced (I was on the train when they announced the price cut a few weeks ago).
