American Airlines has announced their latest Buy Miles promotion, which is running now through July 8, 2016, where you can earn up to 100,000 bonus American Airlines AAdvantage miles.

With this new offer if you wanted to buy 150,000 American AAdvantage miles, meaning you’d receive the 100,000 bonus, for a total of 250,000 miles for $4,311.19 which comes out to about 1.72 cents per mile, which isn’t that bad of a deal if you know how to leverage your American AAdvantage miles.

Offer Details: 

Through July 8, save up to 10% when you buy or gift American Airlines AAdvantage® miles. Plus, you’ll earn up to 100,000 bonus miles when you buy miles for yourself, or add up to 100,000 bonus miles to your purchase when you gift miles to a friend or loved one. That’s a total of up to 250,000 miles.

And, save up to 30% on the transfer cost when you share American Airlines AAdvantage® miles with a friend or loved one by June 30.

To be eligible for a discount AAdvantage members must purchase 11,000 AAdvantage miles or more in a single transaction from the Buy or Gift Miles program beginning 7:00:00am CT on June 13, 2016 to 11:59:59pm CT on July 8, 2016. The prices shown include the discount. The discount applies to the AAdvantage miles purchased and does not apply towards taxes or the $30 transaction processing fee. AAdvantage members must purchase at least 11,000 AAdvantage miles or more in a single transaction from the Buy or Gift Miles program beginning 7:00:00am CT on June 13, 2016 to 11:59:59 pm CT July 29, 2016, to be eligible for bonus miles. The bonus miles earned are calculated based on each individual purchase amount and the corresponding bonus award. Bonus miles earned do not count toward the annual purchase limits. Bottom Line

Always do the math to make sure it makes sense for you to purchase miles, but with this deal, buying American AAdvantage miles at 1.72 cents per mile isn’t that bad of deal, and something I would consider.
