United Airlines To Launch Service to Cuba November 29

It’s never been a more exciting time if you’ve wanted to travel to Cuba! Airlines are facing a historic moment as nonstop flights are being added from the United States to Cuba.

United Airlines announced that it will begin nonstop service to Havana, Cuba from Newark Liberty International Airport as well as from Houston’s Bush Intercontinental. These new routes comes as relations between the U.S. and Cuba thaw.

Per United Airlines,

United’s services to Havana will mark the company’s 13th new international route launched in 2016. Since March, United has started nonstop service between the U.S. and Auckland, New ZealandTel Aviv, IsraelXi’an, ChinaSingaporeHangzhou, ChinaAthens, GreeceBarcelona, Spain; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos; Nassau, Bahamas, and Lisbon, Portugal

United’s daily nonstop flight from Newark Liberty International Airport will provide an important gateway to Cuba from the Newark/New York City region, the largest metropolitan area in the country and home to the second-largest population of Cuban Americans. For more than 20 years, United has offered the Newark/New York City region the most flights to the most destinations around the world.

Bush Intercontinental will be an important gateway for service to Havana and will directly connect 20 markets across the central and western United States to Cuba with just one stop. The Cuban-American population in the Houston metropolitan area ranks among the top ten cities in the country. 

Bottom Line

It’s never been a more exciting time to head to Cuba as several US carriers including Delta, American, JetBlue, and United are launching service to the island.

With regards to United, the airline said customers can begin booking flights to Cuba on United.com and both of these routes will be operated by Boeing 737 aircraft.
