American Airlines plans to expand their Premium Economy product to their Boeing 777-200s starting this summer, as it’s currently only offered on a select B787-900 aircraft. Once completed, American will offer Premium Economy on nearly 20 international routes.
Premium Economy is its own class of service that is between Business Class and the Main Cabin. It features a totally different seat than Main Cabin and offers an elevated experience for customers. The leather seats feature 38 inches of pitch, extending foot, leg and head rests, personal on-demand entertainment systems and larger touchscreen monitors. Additionally, customers will receive noise-reducing headphones and amenity kits, and will also enjoy an enhanced meal service with complimentary wine, beer and spirits.
Starting December 15, the following 777-200 routes will offer it:
- DFW–EZE
- DFW–FRA
- DFW–LHR
- DFW–NRT
