A passenger was arrested at Iceland KeflavÃk International Airport for attempting to board a flight wearing too many clothes. He reportedly had on ten shirts and eight pairs of pants, as was trying to avoid paying an excess baggage fee.
The British Airways passenger was allowed to check-in and even go through security, as it wasn’t until he tried to board that the problem arose.
Per Fox News,
Ryan Carney Williams, who goes by Ryan Hawaii, was reportedly denied a boarding pass at the British Airways desk for his flight home after he put on all his clothes that wouldn’t fit properly in his checked luggage.
Hawaii claimed in a later tweet that when the police arrived, he was arrested, sprayed with mace and held on the ground after refusing to leave. Hawaii maintains that he had been polite during the incident.
Once Hawaii gave his report to the police at the station, he was sent back to the airport for a flight he had booked with EasyJet for the next day.
Wow! I guess some people are willing to do whatever it takes to avoid paying fees, but be careful if attempting this method, as we see that it didn’t work out well for this passenger.

For all the times that the airline has sat me next to a person who should have bought two seats or who’s shoulder was halfway into my seat, I see this as ridiculous. Anyone who takes up more than their space in a seat should be penalized. not just this guy.
