The TSA “typically screens about 2.2 million passengers a day, but could top 2.6 million on Friday.” That’s right, if you are flying out on the Friday before the 4th of July, make sure you plan ahead as the lines could be long!
TSA Warns This Day Might Be The Busiest Ever!
USA Today reports,
WASHINGTON – The number of airline passengers this Friday before the July Fourth holiday will approach a record, the head of the Transportation Security Administration said Wednesday.
Airlines forecast a record number of travelers this summer, with 246 million people flying from June 1 to Aug. 31.
“We expect that this coming Friday will potentially be one of busiest days ever in TSA history, in terms of passenger throughput busiest ever,” Pekoske told reporters on a conference call. “We’re doing that while we’re also enhancing security.”
