Per One Mile at a Time, Marriott has launched a beta site of their new rewards program, which they’re calling Marriott Bonvoy. However, it has since been shut down, since it was released prior to the official launch. After doing some investigating, there is currently a patent that was filed on this month, for the Marriott Bonvoy name.

It does appear the this will be in fact the new name of the combined loyalty program of Marriott Rewards, Starwood Preferred Guest, and Ritz Carlton Rewards.

Additionally, we learn that the tiers of the new structure will be renaming. The new program will have Titanium Elite, and Ambassador Elite replacing the confusing current Platinum Premier and Platinum Premier Elite levels.

With these name changes, elite status will be as follows: Silver Elite, Gold Elite, Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite, and Ambassador Elite. If you include the base level, they’ll have 6 different tiers in the Marriott Bonvoy program.

Marriott Bonvoy is currently patent pending.

It’s unclear on when the program will be officially launched by Marriott, however with the beta site leaked earlier today, it could mean that they plan to launch it earlier than planned.

Hyatt recently launched their World of Hyatt program and have some interesting names for their elite tiers such as Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist, so it seems like Marriott decided to “be creative” and come up with something different as well.

  1. Wander if it came from the same guy who thought up the “your Marriott awaits” campaign. It’s awful, just awful.
