Starting September 1, 2019, there will be negative changes coming to The Club airport lounges when it comes to admittance procedures.

You’ll now only be able to access the lounge up to 3 hours prior to your scheduled departure time, additionally you can no longer use upon arrival. These changes apply to all of The Club locations, and you’ll notice the updated verbiage on the Priority Pass website.

American Express added new restrictions recently to accessing their Centurion Lounges, and it seems like The Club lounges are following with similar restrictions. Likely due to overcrowding, however a negative if you’ve used these upon arrival for a quick bite to eat or a drink.

How To Get Access:

You can gain access to Priority Pass Select, which will get you lounge access here for free by being a cardholder of certain credit cards including both the The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express

  1. sorry I dont see this change as a negative change, if anything it should have been this way from the get go. Many clubs ended up denying entry due to them being full, so those who have a flight in an hour or two couldnt enter, while it was full by those who just arrived and werent connecting etc etc

Now hopefully being denied entry will be a thing of the past

  2. The Club at PHX lounge is now closed and there are no other Priority Pass options in PHX which is very disappointing! I believe they are going to remodel and open it as Centurion Lounge.

  3. @Stephan I think the PHX Lounge once reopened will be a Escape lounge and a Centurion lounge which means, if you are an Amex cardholder you will have access to both lounges.

  4. How is this negative ? This kicks the idiots out. Who the hell gets to the airport 3 hours early to eat bad sandwiches. Bloggers!!! Yay. Get them out and make the lounge more peaceful. Also. Who the hell goes into these lounges on arrival!? You’ve got to be kidding me. The last thing any human would want to do is hang around an airport after a flight. Great policy change. Hoping for quieter lounges.
