Hotel Review: Moxy NYC Chelsea

I recently shared how I was Embarking on the Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Challenge, where I’d need to stay 16 nights within 90 days of enrolling to earn Marriott Platinum Elite Status. As I was mattress running in New York City, next up was the next stop was the Moxy NYC Chelsea, which I was excited to compare coming from the Moxy NYC Times Square.

The Moxy Chelsea is located is located on 28th and 6th Avenue, which I would say is a stretch to call this Chelsea. The property has 349 guest rooms and is a Marriott Category 5 property with free night awards starting at 35,000 points per night for a standard award.

Bottom Line

Having recently stayed at the Moxy Times Square, I was interested to see how my 2nd Moxy stay at the Moxy Chelsea would compare. The Moxy Chelsea is a lot newer and it’s clear in the design that they’ve made a few changes since the first Moxy in New York.

One negative was I did book a room with a King bed and informed at check-in that I was being given a room with two double beds, not sure if it’s common for this to happen here. I checked online and they were still selling rooms with king beds, so the check-in mishap did leave a bad taste upon arrival.
