Now through October 31, 2020, Delta Air Lines is offering its most generous Medallion Status Match and Challenge, where you’ll receive a higher tier level of status than you’re matching from including up to Diamond Medallion status.
If you hold elite status on Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, jetBlue, Southwest Airlines or United Airlines then you’re in luck to receive your complimentary Medallion status through March 31, 2021.
To make your return to travel more enjoyable, if you have elite status on another airline, enroll in our elevated Status Match challenge between October 19 and October 31, 2020 and you can receive complimentary Medallion Status one Tier higher than your equivalent current status on that airline – through March 31, 2021.
Plus, complete the requirements below by March 31, 2021 to maintain that Medallion Status through January 31, 2022:
- If you receive Gold Medallion Status: Fly 2 Qualifying Round Trips or 4 One Ways
- If you receive Platinum Medallion Status: Fly 4 Qualifying Round Trips or 8 One Ways
- If you receive Diamond Medallion Status: Fly 6 Qualifying Round Trips or 12 One Ways
Note that flights that are both marketed and operated by SkyMiles Partner Airlines, Award Tickets, Basic Economy/E fare class will not count.
Bottom Line
Delta’s offering its most generous status match the airline has ever offered. Typically, you’ll be matched to the same level of the airline you hold status, but with this offer you’ll be matched one tier higher all the way up to Diamond Medallion.
Additionally, the complimentary status normally lasts for 90 days, with this offer you’re receiving the status for 5 months if you match now as it will last through the end of the March.
Lastly, Delta typically requires a spend requirement on flights with its normal challenge through earning MQDs, however to earn the status after the match, you simply just need to take the number of flights required with who mention of any spending requirements.
It’s clear Delta is looking to earn new business during this time and it’s a compelling offer if you do hold elite status with another airline, especially if you’re able to match to the Diamond Medallion level.

Sure would be cool if they have current Diamond members 360 status 🙂
