Delta has announced they’ll be extending its seating capacity for passengers by continuing to block middle seats onboard both mainline and connection carriers through March 30, 2021. This applies to Main Cabin, Comfort + and First Class cabins.
Delta previously was blocking middle seats on all flights through January 6th, so this latest announcement extends for an additional three months.
Per Delta,
Delta will continue delivering on its industry-leading commitment to provide more space for customers as the only U.S. airline blocking middle seats for flights departing now through March 30, 2021.
As more medical experts agree on the safety of air travel thanks to the multiple layers of protection provided under the Delta CareStandard, blocking seats into spring 2021 provides added confidence and reassurance for customers booking future travel plans.
Delta is the only major US airline to continue blocking middle seats into 2021, so I suspect they’re banking on winning over marketshare in the 1st quarter next year as fliers shift their business over to Delta
When given a choice on airline to fly during these times, I’d highly recommend one that blocks middle seats. Having flown Delta several times since March, I can say that I felt safe onboard and appreciate all the measures they’re taking to ensure safety.
