Marriott offers a Best Rate Guarantee, which means if you find a lower rate on a competing site, Marriott will essentially match that rate and offer you a further discount or bonus points.
I really haven’t used this much, however it seems like there’s actually many times where you may find lower rates online, so might want to start. I find if you search the hotel on Google, and then select “Check Availability”, you’ll get a comparison of the rates available on many sites to easily compare.
Here’s how Marriott’s Best Rate Guarantee works:
1. Make a reservation using any official Marriott reservation channel (Marriott.com, Marriott Bonvoy App, Customer Engagement Centers, or directly with a hotel).
2. If you find a lower rate for the same hotel, same room type, and same reservation dates on a non-Marriott website or non-Marriott Bonvoy app (“Comparison Rateâ€) you may submit a Best Rate Guarantee claim.
3. If we approve your claim, we’ll match the Comparison rate AND give you your choice of either an extra 25% discount on the room (20% discount for Design Hotels) OR give you 5,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points.
Taking a look at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, I was able to find the lowest rate for $160 on the Marriott site.
However, once I looked on Google, I saw several other sites had a comparable room for $152, which was $8 lower. You might think $8 isn’t worth much, however keep in mind, Marriott will not only match this rate, they will either offer 25% off it or 5,000 points, bringing down the rate to $114.
Once you submit the Best Rate Guarantee form, it can take up to 24 hours to hear back from Marriott to see if your claim is approved. If you haven’t heard back or want to check the status of your claim you can call 1-800-771-5665, however make sure to submit your claim online before calling, as they won’t take them over the phone.

Lol so weird. I was literally just looking at the JW Marriott Dubai for this March on Hotels.com ($117) and figured since I’m Marriott Gold (for whatever that’s worth) I’d login to my account and search. Well, Marriott shows me $130 for lowest room. Looks like I’ll be taking advantage of this.Much appreciated!
I used the best rate guarantee at the Cosmopolitan two years ago for a 5 night stay. Saved me about $300 then I asked for an additional upgrade at check in. Platinum usually only gets one or two room levels upgrade. I received a top level suite after being nice to the check in clerk. I don’t gamble so I know it wasn’t a high roller upgrade. I saved over $2,000 on just the upgraded room!
Pretty! This was an extremely wonderful article. Thank you for
