Southwest Airlines announced they’ll be bringing back new inflight beverage options as they continue to restore a pre-pandemic inflight experience. Drink coupons with an expiration date of 2020 will be accepted through 12/31/21.
Like many airlines, Southwest completely slashed inflight service over a year ago and has since slowly brought a few offerings, so it’s nice to see a more robust return, though still not a complete pre-pandemic menu.
In addition to Southwest’s current onboard offerings of Coke, Diet Coke, 7Up, and water, Southwest Airlines will add the following:
Beginning Thursday, June 24, on flights to/from U.S. Mainland and Hawaii:
- Three beer options and one red wine option will be available for purchase.
- Miller Lite ($6), Dos Equis ($6), and Blue Moon ($7) o Red Wine: Carmenet Cabernet Sauvignon ($6)
Beginning Thursday, June 24, on all flights 251 miles and more:
- Regular coffee will be available.
Beginning Wednesday, July 14, on all flights 251 miles and more:
- Southwest will provide an enhanced beverage service with all of the above options, plus:
- Orange Juice, Cranberry Cocktail
- Mossel Bay Chenin Blanc Chardonnay ($6)
- Deep Eddy Vodka ($7)
- Jack Daniels Whiskey($7)
Southwest is still evaluating the full return of onboard beverage service on its remaining flights. For now, beverage service on flights 250 miles and less will continue to be temporarily suspended.
