W Atlanta Midtown Deflagged Into Hotel Midtown

Following news earlier this year in the midst of the pandemic, the W Atlanta – Buckhead has been rebranded as Hotel Colee, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. We now have another W Hotel in Atlanta which has left the brand.

The W Atlanta – Midtown has rebranded as Hotel Midtown, which is currently being operated as independent property.

We’ve learned that the property that this hotel will join Curio by Hilton later this year, as the property had recently been sold and a new management agreement is in the works.

Now, there’s currently only one W Hotel in Atlanta which are the W Atlanta – Downtown. This is now the third W in Atlanta to get re-branded over the years. Some may recall the W Atlanta – Perimeter which changed years ago to the Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter.

  1. To me this was a disappointing property, sort of in line with a lot of W hotels, in need of some TLC. Not my pick in Midtown for a bunch of reasons. Still, it is a good location, and gets a ton of event traffic, so I’m interested to see what becomes of it as a Curio.
