The Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City has 700 guest rooms including 33 suites and is located downtown Salt Lake City next to the Salt Palace Convention Center. The property recently opened in October 2022.

This property is a World of Hyatt Category 3 property, meaning free standard awards are available for 12,000 points per night, and range from 9,000 to 1,5000 points a night. Additionally, this means that you’re able to redeem your Category 1-4 free night certificates from the credit card or as a Milestone Awards.

As a Globalist, I was given an upgrade to a King View Corner room upon check-in, as suites were unavailable. Breakfast is served in the Regency Club and is open for refreshments during the day, but is locked in the evenings.

Bottom Line

The Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City is located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City next to the convention center. If you’re looking for a city center hotel, this hotel recently opened last year, and a nice addition to the Salt Lake City hotel options.

The only disappointing part would be the Regency Club not open in the evenings. Breakfast is served each morning and it’s open till 4pm, at which point it’s locked. I hope the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City considers expanding the hours of the lounge to offer an evening spread for guests in the near future.

I think the next time I’m in Salt Lake City, I’d check out the brand new Le Méridien Salt Lake City Downtown which just opened this year.
