I have to admit, I’m pretty excited that my free AClub Platinum status arrived today. In late November they were offering complimentary status through a German website (hat tip to Gary). I used Google Chrome to translate the website and apply. It is only a few weeks later and I have my Platinum card. Now I’ll have AClub Platinum status through November of 2012 without stepping foot in one of their hotels. A great deal if you expect to stay in one of their hotels this coming year. Platinum benefits are normally attained after 60 nights or earning 25,000 AClub points.

Bottom Line
If you got in on the free Platinum status back in November you are in luck. The Platinum benefits will be great for anyone planning to stay at one of the AClub participating hotels in 2012. The Platinum offer link in Gary’s post appears to be dead now but there is always Gold status. There is a lesson to be learned that when one of these deals comes up, make sure you jump on it early or you could miss out.
Don’t know if I’ll stay, but I went ahead and got gold just in case. Thanks for the heads up.
Mine came in today as well. Almost makes me want to plan a European hotel stay… 🙂
Hi Brock – Glad it helped.
Hi Aleks – Almost for me as well, almost…
I got my card a few days ago.
Got mine yesterday
I signed up for the deal, and saw that they don’t send out the cards until after your first stay. I sent an email asking if I could get it anyway, and got a (this side of snooty) response explaining that they don’t send them until after your first stay.
Later that same day I got an email that the card was being sent!
Got it, Will use during my annual summer Eurotrip!
Another thing si it helped me leverage a Hilton Diamond challenge, request via fax, response 48 hours later, 21 nights in 90 days…for those who are interested.
