Diamond Breakfast over Tokyo

This is what it is all about. The grand daddy of award redemptions.  Years spent analyzing (obsessing over) points, miles and status paid off in an especially big way this time around. I checked in last night at the Park Hyatt Tokyo and was upgraded to a stunning 1000 square foot Park Suite King perched atop Tokyo with Mount Fuji views. The hotel and hotel room itself could pass for an art museum.

The Park Hyatt Tokyo allows a newly minted Diamond member like myself to take complimentary breakfast as Room Service so that is exactly what we did.  Coffee, Classical music, and breathtaking views over Tokyo while still in our Yukata (Japanese Pajamas).  No better way to start the day!  IMG_1357

None of this seems real.  I can’t wait to share the full report.

  1. Woot Woot…..Insance. I just recently joined the points and miles game and cant wait someday to do what you are doing. (Is that turkey sausage?)

  2. did you book this room using HGP points or did you pay for the room and then use a diamond confirmed suite certificate?

  3. Hello PMM, do you know if the PH tokyo still does the asian takeout to the room after 11PM? in Lost in Translation, the hotel managment sends a hooker to his room

  4. They do take good care of Diamond there, try out the Japanese breakfast… that is awesome!!!
    Not sure they will serve that for room service.

  5. I apologize for such a late reply. Tokyo goes on and on and on.

    @aznprzn – Glad to have another member of the cult! It was actually Pork Sausage. It was knock out.

  6. @chuck/Explore – I can’t afford a paid room here. 🙂 I used one Suite Night from the Hyatt Visa signup bonus and the other 2 nights were point redemptions. I will explain the full booking strategy in the upcoming trip report.

    @Jenny – I am heading out tomorrow morning 🙁

    @Mike – That video is hilarious. I love it.

  7. My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon for 5 nights in the same exact suite (we could tell by your photo of the skyline as we had the same exact view). Booked this before Hyatt changed the upgrade requirements, so it cost 12,000 Hyatt points instead of the current 30,000. Best use of hotel points ever, IMHO. We ate in the NY Grill once and the NY Bar once.

    The suite was made up whenever we requested it. The one funny thing we encountered is that they would not throw anything away, even nearly empty bottles of soda!

    On the morning of our departure, the weather gods finally cooperated and gave us an AMAZING view of Mt. Fuji, I took a few photos.

    Such an amazing hotel! Would stay there again in a NY minute!
