As a business traveler who travels every week, we are always looking to save time getting from point A to point B. So we jumped at the opportunity to check out the check in process at the world’s busiest airport. We visited the new international terminal at Hartsfield International airport to experience the SkyPriority check and see what the new terminal was all about.
The ability to check in and get through security quickly is important. Some business travelers even time their arrival to the airport to coincide with the departure of their plane. So with only a few minutes to spare, they’ll be on their way to their destination. With the dedicated SkyPriority check in at the new terminal and access to a dedicated Priority screening lane, business travelers won’t be slowed down one bit by design.
Curbside Drop Off
The international terminal is located right next to the control tower and it is hard not to look up as you step out of the car and on to the curb. Once dropped off, the average business class or elite member traveler can expect to encounter a few check in options at the new terminal.
Sky Priority Check In
Upon arrival, you first have the opportunity to check in with the SkyPriority lane at the curbside drop off. The Skycaps were waiting and ready. If you check a bag, take a look at your bag’s potential journey in this cool video from Delta.
Once you enter the ticketing area of the terminal, you’ll notice a number of check in lines for Delta passengers and other international carriers. The check in desk to the left of the far right doors will be the SkyPriority check in desk. SkyPriority members may check in at this designated location.
Once checked in, SkyPriority, First Class and Business Class passengers members will have access to the Priority Lane at the security check point.
Terminal
The terminal inside was spacious and looked great. The blue lines reflected off the floor giving it a very cool feeling. There were a few small stores just before security where you can pick up a few items including food before heading inside of the security area within the terminal.
Once inside security, your eyes are immediately drawn to the huge chandelier in front of you. If you head left, there are a few shops, another seating area, and many of the new gates. Straight ahead is the duty free shop and the escalators to take you to the second level.
The Delta SkyClub and food court is located on the second level. Several food options including the notable Varsity, an Atlanta staple where you’ll frequently hear their slogan “what do you have” when thinking about placing an order.
Bottom Line
The appearance of the international terminal catches your eye when you drive up the ramp to the curbside drop off. A dedicated SkyPriority check in for international travelers is a welcome enhancement to Delta and Delta’s Partner Airline elite members.
Overall we were thrilled to see the new terminal’s design. We can’t wait to test this out on our next international trip.

Nice! Thanks. I look forward to checking out the new terminal for my July trip to London. I especially love the Sky Priority lane (this is so helpful on those backed up days when security lines are wrapped around the room).
Looks great! Can’t wait to try it out one day!
